PodCampers we need to know how you got to PodCamp SA to be able to calculate Podcamp's carbon emission. We are going to plant trees to offset die emissions produced and we want it as accurate as possible.
Remember: Trees grow and absorb some carbon dioxide.
Please email Nico with the following:
How did you travel? By road or air?
If by air, what was the duration of your flight?
If by road, how many kilometers?
We need money to buy trees to reduce Podcamp SA’s carbon footprint. We will place a “green” box at the registration table at Podcamp SA. Please write your or your company's name on an envelope with your donation and deposit it into the box. The names of the Podcampers who sponsored money for trees will appear on the website.
If you want to adopt a tree to plant and nurture, please write your contact info on the envelope as well.
If you want to learn more about your carbon emmission go to Food and Trees for Africa's website.
From the Food and Trees Website:
Climate change is now the most urgent environmental issue and as the world wakes up to the threats of this South African public benefit organization Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA), who have been talking of the need to address this through conserving, planting and maintaining trees since they started in 1990, has launched The Carbon Standard, a programme to make it easy and affordable to measure their carbon emissions and offset these.
